A system for how sound feels

Sonos is a leading audio company building a connected system that changes how homes – and the listeners inside them – feel. Since inventing wireless multiroom audio, we've grown that system into a portfolio of speakers, headphones, soundbars, subwoofers, portable speakers, and architectural components, all designed to work together and get better as it grows.

Our founders heard the future coming

The year was 2002. No one had heard of music streaming. Listening across the home meant cranking the volume or setting up a complex stack of hardware and running cables through every wall.

By the beaches of Santa Barbara, California, four music-loving engineers recognized the potential of home networking and set out with a simple goal: make it easy to play any song in any room.

A track record of innovation

Sonos has become synonymous with wireless multiroom audio. Thousands of patents later, every innovation still comes down to how sound should feel in the room, not in the spec sheet.

Where engineering meets ear

The Sonos Soundboard brings some of the most discerning ears in the audio industry into our development process. Oscar and GRAMMY Award-winning producers, mixers, artists, and engineers help fine-tune our products so every detail comes through the way its creators intended. You don't just hear the sound. You feel it.
