Board Chair Letter to Employees

Dear Team,

I’m very pleased to announce that the Board has appointed Tom Conrad as Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately, following his successful six months as interim CEO.

This decision follows a comprehensive and competitive national search for a customer-first leader with strong product and technology experience, a deep appreciation for the Sonos mission, and the operational acumen to return the company to growth and sustained profitability. As part of its process, the Board engaged with many talented candidates. Tom stood out as powerfully and uniquely suited to be Sonos’ CEO and to lead the company in seizing the exciting opportunities ahead of us.

Over the last six months, we’ve seen how Tom has worked closely with all of you to address our urgent challenges, to re-center us on our customers, and to build momentum for the future. When Tom stepped in, customers, the media and many of you were appropriately questioning what had gone wrong and insisting on urgency and answers. Tom has done a masterful job leading our response, building on his keen knowledge of the company, his extensive experience as a product leader, and a heartfelt connection with our customers. The feedback from inside and outside the company has been uniformly positive and strong. Sonos is now headed in the right direction, gaining steam, and ready to bring new products and experiences into people’s lives.

Beyond proving himself so successfully in the role, Tom impressed the Board with his compelling vision of Sonos’ future and his plans for placing the company at the cutting edge of customer-centric innovation, as AI and other advances reframe the landscape in dynamic ways.

Thank you for all you’ve done to help put Sonos on stronger footing, and for your continued dedication going forward. We’re excited for what lies ahead, and confident in Tom’s ability, and yours, to build on the founding vision of Sonos and lead us through this next chapter of growth and success.
